Thanks Tina! I know...I totally get how hard it is for people to respond to something that seems so wacky on the surface. We like logic and simplicity, which is why Ayurveda needs to get out there more! :)

Wow, well this post is a little old but I just found it and you're just sooo right. That's exactly what the "non-hippies" see when looking at "natural stuff". I'm one of those "well-grounded" people who believe in facts and science and white scrubs. Or I used to be. That's what they want us to believe while trying to make anything else look silly - and quite successfully if you ask me.
So finally I've come to see that big pharmacy concerns don't give a f* about our health but only about their profits and am looking for alternatives. Can you believe how hard that is? First you have to open your mind and deal with the comments of the white-scrub-followers. Then you're trying to learn something and need to find good and trustable sources among all those who are trying to make money from all the... well gullible esoterics; that's how they see them. If you don't know a thing about alternatives it's really hard to figure out who is credible and who isn't (way easier to just stick to "white scrub" as identification...).
So I totally understand people who find it hard to believe in alternatives, as long as it comes mixed among those obvious quacks...
