**11-4-12** Hey All! I’m taking a break from Full Bloom consultations due to my current work and home schedule. However, I can still squeeze in mini-buds if we schedule far enough in advance. I will let you know when I’m up and running for full consultations again. In the meantime, keep asking questions and I’ll do my best to answer them all! xoxo, Monica
It’s great to read about Ayurveda in the broad sense of how nature influences our well being. And it’s great to know what the doshas are and what qualities they bring to each of us. But, what I get asked all the time is, “Ok but, what about me?” It’s a beautiful question because Ayurveda’s foundation focuses on the unique qualities of each individual. In order to uncover where your imbalances may stem from, we need to talk about you. A lot. Therapies may differ from person to person so the goal is to find out who you are. In contrast to western medicine, Ayurveda does not simply treat disease, it gets to the root and treats the individual as a whole. So get ready because IT’S ALL ABOUT YOU!
WHAT TO EXPECT. During our Full Bloom consultation, we will talk in depth (2 hours) about you! I always start with an explanation of the principles of Ayurveda so my clients have the basic knowledge they can carry with them forever. Then we will identify your individual prakruti (natural balanced state) and your vikruti (any imbalances). Together we will go into detail about your daily schedule, nutrition, digestion, exercise, stress levels, work life, relationships, emotions, etc., I do an analysis of your entire life to see what might be throwing you off balance. Based on my analysis, I will advise changes based on the principles of Ayurveda to bring you back to your prakruti, your natural balance.
One month after the initial 2-hour session, we will have one follow-up visit. Some imbalances are corrected easily and others will take more time, although it will depend on the person and the imbalance.

It’s not always necessary to do a Full Bloom consultation. Ayurveda has plenty of tips to get you feeling better quickly. I’ve got tricks up my sleeve so if you have a nagging health problem, let’s to a quick session to nip it in the BUD! Not all things are fixable with a mini bud and I will let you know if I think the problem will require a Full Bloom.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING:
I have been battling IBS for 10 years and was willing to try anything. When I heard about an alternative way to dealing with IBS other than medication I was all for it! I took the personality test, kept track of my eating habits, and talked with Monica extensively about my life. She gave me slight changes to start with in my diet, way of thinking, and awareness of what I was doing to my body. Neither Monica nor I imagined that after the first week I would feel as good as I did. couldn’t believe the difference and couldn’t wait to continue. It’s been almost 2 months now and I’m feeling great. The bloating, diarrhea, and constant cramping are a thing of the past. Monica and her positive attitude changed my life!!! – H.L., Plymouth, Wisconsin
Monica Bloom’s understanding of Ayurveda and the simplicity in which she applies it’s healing wonders is surpassed only by the love in which she cares for the well being of everyones lives she touches. Since working with Monica I have experienced a profound balance in my life. My mind, body and spirit were realized through HeyMonicaB! – S.R., Los Angeles, California
After changing my eating habits to fit more in line with my Ayurvedic constitution, I immediately felt a difference in my concentration and energy. Along with an increase in mental clarity, my chronic allergies were put to ease and I was more relaxed and less anxious. - P.C., San Mateo, California
Four of us in our office caught a horrible flu virus (gastroenteritis). I will spare the details but even once we were back on our feet none of us had much of an appetite. We had stomach cramps that worsened after eating. Digesting lunch took forever and was accompanied with bloating, gas, cramping, burping and discomfort. Monica, who also caught this flu, suggested we drink lassis. She made us lassis with ingredients we found in our office kitchen: plain yogurt, water, ground ginger, honey, and cinnamon. We all drank our lassis and burped and burped. A couple hours later it felt like she “un-clogged” us of that heavy indigestion feeling. The next morning we were all in tip top shape. I am going to stock up so I can make my own lassis. Excellent and easy to make a natural remedy. Who knew it was that easy! – O. Crovetto, Los Angeles, CA
Monica is AMAZING!
Honestly, I could say a million great things about Monica. Her enthusiasm is infectious, and she’s just an incredible person in general. If you have the chance to spend time with her, no matter what your situation is, just do it. She’s kind, thoughtful, smart, and positive. And she will change your life, too, if you let her. Thank you, Monica B! – S. Johnson, Los Angeles, CA
Monica listens to what’s going on in your life and your heart, and offers doable suggestions for positive change. She asked me questions I should have been asking myself a long time ago. Her approach is fun, her methods are sustainable and I’ve been able to implement changes into my day that have proven to be significant for me. ~ Caren Magill, Los Angeles, CA

Great Glog.
I am also an Ayurvedic Consultant since 1980.
I wish you will go deep in some herb’s details and will understand the TriDosha more.
Cee you!

Thank you Nandkishor! Wow, you have many more years of knowledge under your belt than I do! I’ve only been studying since 2007. I don’t go into details with herbs first of all, because I am still junior in my learnings. Second, I want to teach diet and lifestyle because that is the root of all our problems. It’s very easy for us Americans to get our hands on “quick fixes” but as you know, that’s not the foundation of Ayurveda. I think herbs are great, but they could be easily seen as a “quick fix” (I know my readers!). Therefore, I reserve them for my one on one consultations so I can make sure the correct herb goes to the right person. Thank you for writing and Namasté!!

Hey Monica B!
IS that two day course you took for yoga your only training in that science? I couldn’t find a Diploma in Ayurvedic Sciences from Kerala on thier website. Is that an old program? Oh yeah, and how much did that Ace registration cost you? I hope I have enough in my bank account! Thanks for all your help Monica! I wanna be just like you!
Namaste!

Hi. I just did your online dosha test and scored 12/12/12/. i did it with in mind my entire life, not just today, recently or what i would like. Not a bad number heh!? What do you suggest? Thank you for your time. With gratitude, Susan
13 Monica // Jul 28, 2012 at 11:31 am
Hi Susan!! :) I’m going to tell you…take it again. Reason being, it’s SUPER SUPER rare (like an Ayurvedic doc w/40 years experience had never seen someone tridoshic) to be tridoshic. If you are indeed tridoshic, best is to eat according to the seasons :)

Hello Monica,
Thank you for this website as a resource for healing. I am interested in Ayurvedic knowledge and have an intuition that a Full Bloom session may be a piece of the puzzle in my own wellness journey. When would your schedule permit a 2 hour session in the New Year?
Lulit

Hi Lulit!
Well, I took a little break on the Full Bloom sessions, but maybe we can schedule something in the new year. I’ll send you an email! :)

Pankaj,
I’m sorry to hear this! Unfortunately because I don’t know you and are not familiar with your condition, I cannot advise. Ayurveda should be able to help you but you will need to find a reputable practitioner in your area and get a proper consultation. I wish you all the best in your healing!

Hi Monica
I stumbled on your site and it is very interesting. I have a fluid between my lung and lining. Is there anything you can suggest to get rid of this fluid. I think it is called a plural effusion.
Thanks

Hey Annie!
Ohhh…yeah that’s above my head. Ayurveda will treat the person not the problem, so I can’t advise on here. Do you have an Ayurvedic practitioner in your area? Or even a good acupuncturist? Someone local will be a much better resource for you – I wish I could help!! Hugs, Monica

Hey Monica!!! I LOVE your site. I’m really interested in Ayurveda and have been reading about it for years. I love that you are out there DOING it! I’ve been seen by an Indian vaidya and I’m a VK. I look like a kapha, but feel and act like a vata. Seeking balance is so so hard. Can you recommend anything for us hard to balance VKs?
24 Monica // May 10, 2013 at 12:58 pm
Hey Meg!! YAY! Thanks for your note!!
Basically, the quality that vata and kapha have in common is that they are cold! Are you always cold? VKs are coldie coldie chilly. Eating according to the seasons will help but keeping warm and having warm foods will be best. In the fall when vata season is high, have warm, goopy/wet/saucy foods. In the spring when kapha season is high, have warm spicy, light foods (like quinoa and veggies or stir fry). Meat in general will be hard for you to digest, so have it sparingly. Fruits are your friends (according to season). Exercise should be consistent, daily (increases digestive fire and helps circulation). Overall keep warm and keep your agni strong! Does that help? xo
