Qualities of Pitta

In Ayurveda, one of the main rules is “like increases like” and so we will look at the
qualities of the dosha and use the opposite to stay balanced.

Pitta qualities are hot, sharp, slightly oily, smooth and mobile.

To stay balanced, pitta will use the opposite qualities which are cool, calm, soothing,
slightly dry and grounding.

Please note  “cooling” does not mean ice cold. It means comfy cool. A pitta would enjoy a lukewarm or cool bath, but if it’s way freezing, it will shock our bodies and constrict channels and probably piss off a pitta. In addition to their bodies, pittas need to keep their mind cool to prevent getting hot-headed or overly stressed.
